Carina Balduin

Carina Balduin works as a research assistant at Project Management Jülich. She talks about how she manages her everyday working life with a severe disability that she developed five years ago due to a serious acute illness and subsequent intensive medical treatment.

She refers about specific adjustments to her workplace – such as easier access from the disabled parking space to her office and structural changes to doors – and how valuable it is to have a team that communicates openly. Her insight shows that inclusion arises above all when needs are taken seriously, and solutions are found together that make day-to-day work easier. Carina's openness makes it possible to raise awareness and understanding and promote participation.
