High-Performance Computing: Overview of Jülich’s supercomputers
Powerful and energy-efficient supercomputers are key to research, AI and digital sovereignty. To this end, the Jülich Supercomputing Centre operates an (exascale) supercomputing infrastructure that combines high-performance computing with storage and data services.
Cutting-edge research focused on practical applications
This topic forms part of Forschungszentrum Jülich’s presentation at HANNOVER MESSE 2026. General information about the exhibition, the projects on display and Forschungszentrum Jülich’s stand can be found on the central landing page for the fair.
JUPITER
The Forschungszentrum Jülich is home to Europe’s first exascale computer – known as JUPITER. This supercomputer is the first in Europe to have surpassed the threshold of one quadrillion (‘1’ followed by 18 zeros) calculations per second.
JUWELS
The modular supercomputer JUWELS consisting of a Cluster and a Booster module is one of the flagships system at JSC with a peak performance of 85 PFLOPS.
JURECA
The supercomputer JURECA consists of a JURECA-DC module.
JUST
The Jülich Storage Cluster (JUST) is a versatile storage infrastructure operated by the Jülich Supercomputing Centre at Forschungszentrum Jülich. The system provides high-performance and high-capacity storage resources for the supercomputer facility.
