• By using the NB-IoT data transmission technology with Soilnet, it is possible to use any number of measuring units at nearly each location
• Narrow Band - Internet of Things (NB-IoT) is deployed jointly with existing mobile cellular networks, e.g. LTE, and thus enables large scale network coverage
• With NB-IoT there is no need to maintain an ad-hoc sensor network infrastructure (e.g. gateways, network server etc.)
• It enable low-power, less talkative devices to get connected – initially for devices that transmit several bytes of data per day , as soilnet.
• Low cost SIM Cards (e.g. 10 Euro for 10 years per device) enable inexpensive operation
• In combination with the SoilNet CPA software, a diverse organization and configuration of the measuring networks is possible
• A virtual machine on the Internet serves as the central NB-IoT data processing unit. This enables the entire server infrastructure to be backed up
