Working on the principle of "from a sketch on a beer coaster to a working experimental setup", we support our clients in research and engineering every step of the way.

Activities:

• Advising clients on the design and construction of experiments
• Designing individual components, prototypes, and complex experimental setups
• Close collaboration with the IBI-TAK workshop
• Experience with ultra-high vacuum (UHV) and cryogenic technology
• Project-specific material selection, including special materials such as molybdenum, titanium, tantalum, and technical plastics
• Use of CAD systems such as Autodesk Inventor and CATIA V5
• Experience with 3D printing processes (Markforged filament printing)
• 3D scanning of existing components (Keyence)
• Visualization of projects for papers and posters
• Documentation of design data

Due to its central location among the institutes it serves, TAK's precision engineering workshop is the go-to contact point for everything from small jobs to the production of complex experimental apparatus, which can take several hundred man-hours to complete.

Activities:

• Machining using conventional and modern CNC machine tools
• Production of individual parts and prototypes
• Production and assembly of complex experimental apparatus
• Construction of manipulators and spectrometers, as well as components for high- and low-temperature technology
• Development of vacuum components

• Welding technology (TIG)
• 3D printing (Formlabs resin printers and Markforged filament printers)
