Supervisory board approves extension of Hot Materials Lab

In its 102nd meeting, the supervisory board approved the extension of the Hot Materials Lab of IEK-4 including the corresponding investments.

The project comprises of two new hot cells, and procurement of a new electron beam JUDITH-3, which will be installed together with the new plasma generator JULE-PSI in the hot cells.

EUROfusion, German Ministry of Research and Forschungszentrum Jülich contribute to the funding.

These new facilities will manifest the unique position in the world of Forschungszentrum Jülich in terms of qualification of wall materials and components.
