Sequential Reaction Control
Team Lead
About
The team ‚Sequential Reaction Control’ is dealing with reaction engineering optimization studies that explicitly take into account the volume change, phase change (e.g., due to the evaporation/condensation of the hydrogen carrier in the reactor), and heat generation of the hydrogenation and dehydrogenation reactions. Approaches include the layering or targeted mixing of different catalyst systems along the reaction axis or the addition of reactants at different points along the reactor. In the case of reaction sequences, for example in the steam reforming of dimethyl ether (hydrolysis, reforming), the aim is to locate the various reaction steps appropriately in the reactor to optimize the relevant heat and mass transfer processes. The team's research includes experimental and simulation aspects.
