Reactor Design and Reactor technology

The Department ‚Reactor Design and Reactor Technology‘ develops new reaction equipment for chemical hydrogen storage processes. The department's research activities focus on two aspects: a) The development of reactors equipped with sophisticated measurement technology, particularly temperature measurement technology, combined with in-line analysis of the reaction mixture composition; b) The manufacturing and validation of additively manufactured reactor elements or reactors, which in particular are characterized by catalytically activated surfaces. Another focus is on the development of reaction equipment that allows us to carry out autothermal hydrogen release, i.e., in which an exothermal reaction is carried out in thermally coupled with the endothermal hydrogen release reaction.
