SenseUP closes €2.4 million seed funding round
SenseUP

Jülich-based spin-off SenseUP secures €2.4 million in seed funding – led by Capnamic, with participation from HBG Ventures, CHECK24 Impact GmbH, and Rockstart. The funding will be used to expand the company’s product portfolio, grow its team, and accelerate strategic partnerships with industry players.

The biotech start-up – a spin-off from the Institute of Bio- and Geosciences, Biotechnology (IBG-1) – is developing environmentally friendly and effective biopesticides based on a patented, precision-fermented multi-product platform. By leveraging renewable raw materials and existing agricultural infrastructure, SenseUP enables large-scale production of robust, cost-effective crop protection solutions.

With a growing team of eleven scientists and engineers — most of whom joined the company following its spin-off — SenseUP is on a mission to transform global crop protection and contribute to a more resilient and sustainable food system. The company is supported by a broad network of research institutions, academic partners, and industry stakeholders that provide targeted expertise across key areas.
