Successfully completed - Congratulations Dr. Alexander Schwab

The ZEA-1 congratulates Alexander Schwab on the successful completion of his doctorate (Dr.-Ing.) at RWTH Aachen University, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, supervisor Prof. Ghaleb Natour.

In his thesis "Development and construction of a cryostat for a compact cryogenic neutron moderator for operation at temperatures below 10 K", he investigates the suitability of a cryogenic solid-methane moderator for use in the High Brilliance Neutron Source (HBS). "With his work, Alex has not only contributed to the success of the HBS, but also answered important questions about the development and construction of special cryostats for cryogenic solid neutron moderators," praises his day-to-day supervisor Yannick Beßler. The PhD was done in cooperation between the ZEA-1 and the JCNS.
