Our glass technology specialists manufacture custom-made devices and apparatus from state-of-the-art glass materials at Forschungszentrum Jülich. Processing takes place in the flame, at the glass-blowing table or on the glass lathe. In close contact and exchange with our partners in the institutes and outside the campus, we develop and manufacture individual glass devices as one-offs or small series. Especially when the industry is unable to find a technical solution. With further developments and repairs, we support the devices we manufacture throughout their entire service life.

The cold processing of glass is just as demanding as working on the flame. Our experts cut, grind, drill and mill delicate workpieces to the desired specification using diamond-tipped tools.

Hard, Hardener, Ceramic

Our components made from the latest technical ceramics are designed to withstand the highest temperatures and maximum wear: From aluminum oxide or Macor to sapphire or materials developed inhouse from materials research. Machining these materials is only possible with special steels or even diamond tools. Cutting, turning, milling, drilling, cylindrical grinding and surface grinding are used to produce components and assemblies with high demands on dimensional accuracy, geometric precision and surface quality.
