Publication alert "Thermal stability and coalescence dynamics of exsolved metal nanoparticles at charged perovskite surfaces"

09 November 2024

We describe the thermal stability and coalescence dynamics of Ni nanoparticles on SrTiO3 surfaces. As we show, the interaction of nanoparticles with point defects at the surface of the oxide support determines the kinetics of particle growth and coarsening. The new paper describes that the control of the defect chemistry of the support layer can be used as a tool to control the surface dynamics and nanoparticle stability, which may allow to increase the lifetimes of their electrocatalytic performances
