Unlocking stable intermediate states in SrFeO₃₋δ through voltage control of oxygen non-stoichiometry
Published: July 6, 2026

Ionotronic devices harvest controlled oxygen-ion movements to tailor materials properties, such as metal-to-insulator transitions, or ferromagnetic to anti ferromagnetic transitions. Under the guidance of IREC (Barcelona, Spain) and the team of Albert Tarancon, we could follow the ion-removal from SrFeO3 thin films, pushing it in a controlled manner from perovskite to Brownmillerite phase and back. First author Paul Nizet visited the PGI-7 team to perform operando x-ray diffraction measurements in Jülich.
