ABOUT ME

I am a philosopher and research assistant in the INM-7 working group "Neuroethics and Ethics of AI". My research interests concern the areas of "general ethics, especially ethics of principles" and "applied ethics, especially medical ethics, research ethics, ethics of AI". A special focus is currently on ethical questions on the topic of "dual use and misuse of research results” as well as around the topic of "AI".

In my dissertation, I dealt with the relationship between the ethical principles of principlism and cultural conditions and questioned the interplay between universal validity and cultural conditionality, i.e., the concrete cultural characteristics of individualism and collectivism using the examples of Turkey and Germany. In this context, my work focused on the topics of bioethics "organ donation", "abortion" and "stem cell research" and analyzed concrete example cases in these fields in order to determine the difficulties in the practical application of ethical principles, i.e., to illustrate the interplay of the characteristics of individualistic and collectivistic cultures with ethical principles, namely their specification.
