Dina Fattakhova-Rohlfing is head of the Electrochemical Storage Department at IEK-1 and W2 Professor at the University of Duisburg-Essen. Dina Fattakhova-Rohlfing graduated in chemistry from Kazan State University and recieved her Ph.D. degree in electrochemistry in 1994 from the A. Arbuzov Institute of Organic and Physical Chemistry in Kazan, Russian Federation. She then worked as a research scientist in academic institutes in Prague (J. Heyrovsky Institute of Physical Chemistry), Bordeaux (National School of Chemistry and Physics) and Hannover (University of Hannover). Since 2006 she worked as an independent group leader and in 2012 ‑ 2015 as a professor for Advanced Materials Science (AMS) at Ludwig-Maximilians Universität München (LMU), where she also completed her habilitation in physical chemistry in 2015.
