About me

I am a plant biotechnologist and am particularly interested in the cell walls of plants and their potential for utilisation, for example as raw materials for biorefineries. My team and I are investigating how environmental factors affect biosynthesis and thus the composition of cell walls and what consequences this has for their functionality.

In particular, we investigate how structure and composition affect their processing and use this knowledge to develop strategies to improve such processes.
