Warum und woran ich forsche

After leaving school, I studied chemistry at the Ruhr University in Bochum from 1988 to 1993. I then moved to the University of Leipzig to complete my doctorate in chemistry. After a two-year postdoctoral period at the University of Leipzig, I joined the Jülich Research Center in 1998, where I still work today. As part of my research, I am working on the development of technologies that are necessary for a successful energy transition. The term energy transition describes the transition from an energy supply based primarily on fossil fuels such as coal, natural gas and oil to a sustainable and climate-friendly energy provision.
