Prof. Dr. Dirk Witthaut

Dirk Witthaut received the Diploma degree (Dipl.-Phys.) and Ph.D. degree in physics from the Technical University of Kaiserslautern, Germany, in 2004 and 2007, respectively. He worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher with the Niels Bohr Institute, Copenhagen, Denmark, and the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics and Self-Organization, Göttingen. Since 2014, he has been heading a research group on network and data science applications at Forschungszentrum Jülich. He is currently a W2 Professor with the University of Cologne and a head of department with ICE-1.
