Expertise
The ER-C operates high-performance electron microscopes permitting unique insights into the world of atoms. The major issues tackled by the ER-C include the further methodological development of high-resolution electron microscopic and spectroscopic methods and their application, currently predominantly for materials research and nanotechnology.
Co-ordination & User Office
The Ernst Ruska-Centre (ER-C) for Microscopy and Spectroscopy with Electrons is a national user facility for ultrahigh-resolution electron microscopy open to universities and research laboratories.
Sample preparation
Specimen preparation for the transmission electron microscopy is an unavoidable and critical step for any TEM experiments. It is frequently a very challenging task, which may decide on the success or failure of an arduously planned TEM experiment.
Instrumentation
An overview of the many varied world-class instruments available at the Ernst Ruska-Centre.
Research Infrastructure
In co-operation with RWTH Aachen University, the ER-C houses two electron microscopy facilities which focus on different scientific areas that can be examined using this fascinating technique.
Publications ER-C
The scientific publications of the Institute ER-C (ER-C-1/PGI-5, ER-C-2, ER-C-3) are searchable in the publication databases of the Central Library.
