Quantum Technology Flagship: Project OpenSuperQPlus

Just like its predecessor OpenSuperQ, the OpenSuperQPlus project is part of the European Quantum Technology Flagship. It is continuing and enhancing OpenSuperQ and brings together most of its team with new partners, resulting in a total of 28 partners from 10 countries under the leadership of Forschungszentrum Jülich.

Project „NEUROTEC“: Neuro-inspired Artificial Intelligence Technologies

The new project “Neuro-inspired artificial intelligence technologies for the electronics of the future” combines existing internationally recognized scientific competences to enable the development of innovative "Beyond von Neumann" concepts to be decisively pursued using energy-efficient components.

Quantum Computer in the Solid state

In Germany's largest quantum computer project, QSolid, a collaboration of 25 research institutions and companies is working to improve error rates and control up to 10 qubits in the medium term. The project aims to establish a comprehensive quantum computing ecosystem at Forschungszentrum Jülich, fostering Germany's leadership in quantum technology and opening new applications in science and industry.

Quantum Cinema: 11.3 Million Euros for Super Slow-Motion Microscopy of Electrons

Observing incredibly fast quantum processes and chemical reactions at the highest resolution: That is the goal of the "Orbital Cinema" project, for which physicists from the coordinating Forschungszentrum Jülich and the universities in Marburg, Regensburg and Graz today received one of the prestigious Synergy Grants from the European Research Council (ERC).

SHADOW WALL EPITAXIE: Growth of tomorrow

Advancing the Compound Semiconductor Technology with the Robust Shadow Wall Technique: Shadow Wall Technique is a selective orientation dependent molecular beam epitaxial growth concept for the local definition of the explicit device areas. This enables for the all in-situ fabrication of fully independent complete products such as field-effect transistors (FETs), light-emitters and detectors.

In the Cluster of Excellence "Matter and Light for Quantum Information" (ML4Q), together with the universities of Cologne, Aachen and Bonn, we want to create new computer and network architectures based on the principles of quantum mechanics.
