About me

I am a senior staff member at the Jülich Supercomputing Centre and a professor of physics at the Helmholtz Institute for Radiation and Nuclear Physics of the University of Bonn. I received my PhD in physics from Wuppertal University and held post-doctoral positions at Forschungszentrum Jülich, Wuppertal University, and MIT, collaborating closely with industry to develop high-performance computing applications. Currently, I lead the HPC for Quantum Systems division at JSC and am responsible for the Simulation and Data Laboratory Numerical Quantum Field Theory within the Center for Advanced Simulation and Analytics (CASA), where I also serve as the speaker for the "CASA Assembly". My research focuses on lattice quantum chromodynamics and strongly correlated lower-dimensional models, as well as numerical methods, including machine learning techniques for their simulation. I am also interested in efficient software for high-performance computing systems, such as the Modular Supercomputing Architecture developed at JSC.
