About Robert

Robert leads the Division “Mathematics and Education” at Jülich Supercomputing Centre. In his research, he focuses on the development, implementation and application of parallel-in-time integration methods. He works in particular on the development and analysis of parallel-in-time methods, high-order iterative time-stepping schemes and algorithm-based fault tolerance and is the lead developer of the pySDC code, a Python prototyping framework for the spectral deferred correction approach and its many flavors. Besides parallel numerical mathematics, Robert is also very much interested in research software engineering. He is one of the executive directors of the Joint Laboratory for Extreme Scale Computing (JLESC), supports PhD students in Jülich and strongly advocates equal opportunities and diversity.
