JuWinHPC: Jülich Women in HPC
Meet new colleagues or strengthen existing contacts! Everybody is welcome.
What it's all about:
Why are there not more women working in HPC? What started with this simple question resulted in the powerful international initiative Women in High Performance Computing (WHPC). The members of this network are working for more equality, diversity and inclusion in the HPC community. The initiative is active at conferences such as SC and ISC, offers workshops and mentoring programs, and aims to raise more awareness in the HPC community with the slogan "diversity creates a stronger community."
A team of local WHPC members established a local WHPC Chapter at Forschungszentrum Jülich, the Jülich Network of Women in HPC (JuWinHPC). The group's goal is to strengthen the local community of women involved in HPC and to promote diversity.
Activities and Events:
We organize a member meeting approximately once a month. This can be an informative event or a casual get-together. We also have a blog where we plan to share our experiences of working in the HPC community from a personal perspective. Looking forward to welcoming you there as well.
Join us:
The target group of our network is very broad. Whether you are affiliated with JSC, any other institute on campus, or elsewhere in the German HPC community, we invite you to join the network, participate in our actions, or take the lead in initiating new ones.
We are happy if you stop by our RocketChat group #JuWinHPC and say "hello"! (Only possible for FZJ internals)
In addition to notices posted on this page, we use the mailing list JuWinHPC@fz-juelich.de to provide information about our activities and upcoming events. If you would like to be added to the mailing list, you can sign up on the JuWinHPC Mailman page.
To officially join WHPC you can register for free on their website. If you want to join our chapter, just select "Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH" as Chapter during the registration process. You can join as many WHPC Chapters as you like! If you are already a member of WHPC but not yet part of our chapter, you can change this by clicking on "update preferences" at the end of a WHPC newsletter.
