Das Ministerium für Kultur und Wissenschaft des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen (MKW) gab heute die Förderung des Forschungsprojekts ACCeSS („Active Carbon Capture for Sustainable Synthesis“) bekannt. ACCeSS wird von der Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf (HHU) koordiniert, Sprecher ist Prof. Dr. Lutz Schmitt vom Institut für Biochemie der HHU. Aus dem Forschungszentrum Jülich ist Prof. Björn Usadel, Direktor des Instituts für Bioinformatik, an dem Projekt beteiligt. Gemeinsam mit Prof. Ulrich Schwaneberg von der RWTH Aachen geht es um die Nettoreduzierung des Klimagases Kohlendioxid (CO2) in der Atmosphäre.
Publication in "nature" - Elucidation of the giant genome of the faba bean
Scientists of IBG-4 and HHU Düsseldorf (Institute for Biological Data Science) contributed to an article in the renowned journal "nature" on the genomes of faba beans (Vicia faba) and the influence of genome regions on seed size and their coloration.
