Dr. Bashir Kazimi has been selected for the Young Excellent Scientist Program (YESP)

Dr. Bashir Kazimi, group leader of our "Deep Learning for Electron Microscopy" group, is one of 6 selected early career researchers to be admitted to the second round of the Young Excellent Scientist Program (YESP).

YESP has been launchen in 2024 and targets excellent early-career scientists at Forschungszentrum Jülich aiming for a leadership position in science. The selected researchers will benefit from individual support modules in the coming months. This includes comprehensive support in creating their own website as well as the opportunity to present themselves and their research in the “Science online +” series. Candidates also benefit from advice on funding options, mobility programmes, scientific awards, and leadership skills.

Dr. Bashir's research is dedicated to developing and applying advanced Deep Learning algorithms for the automated analysis and interpretation of electron microscopy data, enabling more efficient and insightful investigations of material properties.
