Assistant Professor at Kyushu University / MIT

Dr. Moritz L. Weber, who completed his doctoral studies at Forschungszentrum Jülich in 2022 and got the Excellence Prize, has started as an Assistant Professor in a joint appointment between Kyushu University in Japan and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States, where he will serve as a Visiting Scientist. During his time in Jülich, he worked in a collaborative appointment between IMD-2 and PGI-7, investigating the mechanisms of metal exsolution reactions that enable the synthesis of highly ordered, nanostructured electrocatalysts. In his new role, he will focus on advancing the field of reversible solid oxide cells in close collaboration with Prof. Harry Tuller in MIT’s Department of Materials Science and Engineering.
