BMBF NanoMatFutur young investigator group granted to Dr. Marie-Alix Pizzoccaro-Zilamy
In March 2023, Dr. Marie-Alix Pizzoccaro-Zilamy has established a BMBF NanoMatFutur Young Investigators Group at IEK-1. Her project « hybrid 2D Nanomaterial-based membranes" was funded with a total amount of 1.6 million euros over a period of 5 years via the BMBF NanoMatFutur competition.
Dr. Pizzoccaro-Zilamy received her doctorate at the University of Montpellier, France, and then worked as a postdoctoral researcher and lecturer at the University of Twente in the Netherlands. In 2022, she was appointed as an assistant professor.
Her junior research group will work on the development and characterization of nanostructured robust defect-free hybrid 2D-nanomaterial-based membranes made of metal-organic frameworks and zeolites for challenging gas separation applications.
