First IEK-1 Alumni Colloquium

We were delighted to welcome more than 30 IEK-1 alumni to the central library on Friday 28th June. It was a fantastic opportunity to share experiences, learn about possible career paths, create new personal contacts or reactivate old ones. We all had a common experience in Jülich and have spent some memorable time at IEK-1. But each of us follows a different, unique path, and it's always great to reconnect! There are so many exciting career paths possible: in another institute still on the campus, in industry – in a small size enterprise or a global player, in materials science and engineering, energy or a completely different field, at a university or research institution, project management organisation in Germany or abroad.

The colloquium was followed by a barbecue and summer party at the institute, where everyone got to taste the delicious food prepared by the current IEK-1 team. The next Alumni Colloquium will be in 2026, and we can't wait! Thanks to all participants for making this such a great event!
