Three young scientists at IEK-1 receive funding from the MatKat Foundation

Young scientists at Forschungszentrum Jülich were able to apply for funding to pursue their innovative ideas in the field of materials and technology research for the energy transition. Three doctoral researchers at IEK-1 were selected and funded:

• Franziska Winterhalder: Efficiency increase of the production chain in solid oxide electrolysis cell manufacturing
• Jens Igel: Development of an innovative thermal barrier coating system for power generation applications
• Aikai Yang: Development of an optimized sodium-sulfur battery
