Visit from the Helmholtz Energy Research Field
On 7 May, the international Strategic Advisory Board of the Helmholtz Research Field Energy visited Forschungszentrum Jülich. The Chairman of the Advisory Board is Steven Chu, Professor at Stanford University. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1997 and was US Secretary of Energy from 2009 to 2013. The members of the SAB and a delegation from the participating Helmholtz Centres and ministries were able to get a more concrete picture of Jülich's activities in the "Materials and Technologies for the Energy Transition" programme at IEK-1. Young scientists presented new results and research infrastructures.
