AqQua is led by the Max Delbrück Center and the Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel (GEOMAR). Prof. Dr. Timo Dickscheid from the Jülich Institute for Structural and Functional Organisation of the Brain and his research group are contributing many years of expertise in the AI-based analysis of very large image data on supercomputers to the project, which is already being used there for the calculation of high-resolution brain atlases. Methodologically, there are exciting overlaps between the topographical embedding of image data in a three-dimensional space, as is already done in the Jülich Brain Atlas, and the planned basic model in AqQua. The Helmholtz Centre HEREON is also involved in this project.
