HAICON Poster Award for Jan-Oliver Kropp
Jan-Oliver Kropp (Cécile & Oskar Vogt Institute for Brain Research, INM-1 and Helmholtz AI) came third in the poster competition at this year's HAICON - the “Helmholtz AI Conference” in Karlsruhe. The title of his poster: “Step by Step: Towards a gapless 1-micron BigBrain with Diffusion Models”. The audience was the jury and was able to draw from the full range of possibilities: around 100 young scientists entered the competition with their posters. The INM-1 participated with four posters.
HAICON25, which was co-organized by Susanne Wenzel (INM-1), attracted a total of around 400 participants. “CytoNet: A Foundation Model for Cytoarchitecture in the Human Cerebral Cortex” was the title of the presentation by Christian Schiffer (INM-1). The INM-1 was also well represented in the “KI meets IA” panel: Timo Dickscheid discussed with Nicolas Vayatis (Centre Borelli), Julien Donini (AISSAI) and Sophie Archard (MIAI/CNRS) as well as Oliver Kraft (KIT) about a deepened German-French cooperation in the field of AI with the goal of a comprehensive European AI ecosystem.
