Univ.-Prof. Dr. Dirk Feldmeyer, head of the ‘Function of Neuronal Circuits’ Research Group at the Institute of Neurosciences and Medicine, Translational Neuroscience (INM-10), Forschungszentrum Jülich and of the ‘Function of Cortical Circuits’ Research Group at the Dept of Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics at University Hospital Aachen, RWTH Aachen University, serves as Chief Specialty Editor of Frontiers in Synaptic Neuroscience.
During his editorship, the standing of the journal has risen markedly: according to the latest Journal Citation Reports, the Journal Impact Factor has climbed to 6.9, up from 2.8 in the previous reporting period — an increase of almost 2.5 times. This has been complemented by a CiteScore of 9.9, as well as over 7 million article views and downloads. The journal has achieved a top-quartile (Q1) ranking on both citation metrics.

10th of April 2026: In a small ceremony we celebrated the "marriage" of INM-11 and INM-10 to become the new INM-10 Translational Neuroscience.
