Large-scale instruments and facilities are essential for research into quantum technologies. It is only with their help that the necessary materials and systems can be researched. Jülich is home to various infrastructures that provide users with access not only to instruments and facilities for research purposes, but also to the very things that are being researched: for example, quantum computers.

Jülich Supercomputing Centre

JUNIQ

The Jülich UNified Infrastructure for Quantum computing (JUNIQ) provides science and industry with access to various quantum computers. These include experimental systems and prototypes from different national and European research projects, but also commercial instruments such as an annealer from manufacturer D-Wave.

Helmholtz Quantum Center (HQC)

The HQC is a unique technology laboratory that covers the entire research spectrum in quantum computing: from the search for suitable quantum materials to the design of circuits and the development of prototypes. Its offering combines basic research, theory, and development.

Helmholtz Nano Facility (HNF)

At the HNF, scientists can research, produce, and characterize nanostructures and atomic structures for information technology. The cleanroom centre is closely linked with the Helmholtz Quantum Center.
