Halfway Through: The QSolid Quantum Computer Project is Heading Towards the Prototype of the 10-Qubit Demonstrator

The QSolid project was launched in January 2022 with the aim of building a high-quality quantum computer "Made in Germany" based on superconducting quantum chips. After 30 months, the large-scale project, led by Prof. Frank Wilhelm-Mauch from Forschungszentrum Jülich, has reached the mid-term.

Kagome Films on Demand

A new process, coined kagomerization, leads to one-atomic-thick films forming truly 2D kagome lattices. These two-dimensional networks of corner-sharing triangles, offers a vibrant platform for the emergence of nontrivial quantum states driven by electronic correlations such as unconventional superconductivity, charge and spin density waves, and unusual magnetic states such as quantum spin liquids.
