JUWAVE is a software dedicated to the analysis of localized wave packets in 3D data. The primary fitting result are the parameters (amplitude and 3D wave vector) of a few superposed monochromatic waves in a small-volume cuboid. By shifting the cuboid both the spatial distribution and the spectral characteristics can be investigated.

The package is developed to analyze atmospheric gravity waves (GWs) and the package contains dedicated GW physics to infer additional parameters such as GW momentum flux, ground-based phase speed and propagation direction (upward/downward waves can be discerned in model data by the phase relation between temperature and winds).

The package comes with a set of additional plotting and analysis tools.
