PD Dr. Georg Mauer appointed for ASM International Nominating Committee

ASM President, Pradeep Goyal, FASM along with Senior Vice President Dr. Navin Manjooran, FASM, Vice President, Dr. Elizabeth Hoffman, FASM, and Immediate Past President, Dr. Mark Smith, FASM, selected the members of the 2024 ASM International Nominating Committee and extended an invitation to PD Dr. Georg Mauer to serve as a member. The charge and purpose of the committee is to review nominations for ASM Vice President and Trustees and make a recommendation to the membership. Ten individuals are appointed for one year.

ASM International, formerly known as the American Society for Metals, is an association of materials-centric engineers and scientists. Six affiliate societies focused on specific areas of materials science fall under the ASM umbrella, also the Thermal Spray Society (TSS), where Georg Mauer is a member of the Board of Directors. Technical journals published on behalf of ASM include also the Journal of Thermal Spray Technology (JTST), where Georg Mauer serves as an Associated Editor. Various Handbooks published by ASM are recognized as a standard reference in the field of materials science. Vol 5A ‘Thermal Spray Technology’ was co-authored by Georg Mauer.
