26 Papers from 50 Years of Physical Review A: David DiVincenzo Featured Twice in the “Milestone Collection”
25 November 2020

To mark the 50th anniversary of the renowned journal Physical Review A, the journal’s editorial staff is selecting 26 articles from its publication history for a “Milestone Collection” in the course of this year. The Jülich physicist Prof. David DiVincenzo, Director at the Peter Grünberg Institute, is featured in this selection twice with articles from his field of quantum computing: the publication cited almost 2,000 times from November 1995, “Elementary gates for quantum computation” as well as the article cited over 4,700 times, “Quantum computation with quantum dots” from January 1998. Both articles have been referenced in numerous patents.
The collection contains, according to the publishing house, “papers that have made important contributions to atomic, molecular, and optical physics and quantum information by announcing significant discoveries or by initiating new areas of research. Many of them have had a far-reaching impact on other subjects of physical sciences. Efforts have been made to obtain a distribution of such articles in the various fields of physics covered by the journal.
