In the area of the research centre, there are facilities with exemptions for the discharge of specified maximum quantities of individual radionuclides or radionuclide groups. Emission control monitors the emissions measured by the operators via the exhaust air with regard to these permissible maximum quantities. In addition, the emission readings are used together with the meteorological measurement data to determine the annual dose exposure of the population in the vicinity of the research centre.
