10 September 2026 – Beyond The Template

Your Research Is Unique. Your Poster Should Be Too.

You have a conference coming up. You need a poster. You open a blank slide… and now what?

Maybe you look at a few posters for inspiration. Maybe you open PowerPoint. Maybe you ask ChatGPT. And somehow, a little while later, you have a perfectly respectable scientific poster that also looks suspiciously like ten other posters hanging next to it...

So, how do you make yours stand out?

JuWinHPC invites you to a relaxed, interactive one-hour session about making scientific posters especially for PhD students, early-career researchers and anyone staring at their first A0-sized blank page wondering where on earth to start.

We'll talk about how to turn your research into a clear visual story, what actually makes people stop and look at a poster, and how to develop something with a bit of personality instead of simply following the same templates and AI-generated design suggestions as everyone else.

We'll also look at real posters, discuss what works (and what really doesn't), share tips and mistakes from experienced poster makers.

No design experience required. No poster required. No judgement of questionable font choices.

Just bring yourself, your questions, and your opinions.

☕🍪 We'll bring the coffee and cookies because good design decisions should not be made on an empty stomach.

📅 When: Thursday, 10 September
🕚 Time: 11:00–12:00
📍 Where: Meeting Room 2, Building 16.3, JSC
