Several JSC employees teach as professors at a university.

Prof. Dr. Dr. Thomas Lippert at Goethe University Frankfurt

Prof. Dr. Dr. Thomas Lippert is director of the Jülich Supercomputing Centre. Simultaneously, he holds the chair for Modular Supercomputing and Quantum computing at Goethe University Frankfurt.

Prof. Dr. Gabriele Cavallaro at University of Iceland

Gabriele Cavallaro is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, School of Engineering and Natural Sciences, University of Iceland. At JSC, he is the Head of the ‘‘AI and Machine Learning (ML) for Remote Sensing (RS)’’ Simulation and Data Lab.

Prof. Dr. Norbert Eicker at Bergische Universität Wuppertal

Norbert Eicker has been appointed professor in parallel hard- and software systems at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of the Bergische Universität Wuppertal, retaining his position as a scientist at JSC's Technology division.

Prof. Dr. Andreas Kleefeld at University of Applied Sciences Aachen (FH Aachen)

Andreas Kleefeld is Professor at the department Medical Engineering and Technomathematics of the University of Applied Sciences Aachen (FH Aachen). At JSC, he works within the division Mathematics and Education as a group leader of the Algorithms, Tools and Methods Lab (ATML) "Numerical and statistical methods". Further, he coordinates JSC's teaching activities for the master courses Applied Mathematics and Informatics.

Prof. Dr. Erik Koch at RWTH Aachen University

Erik Koch is an associated professor at the RWTH Aachen University for Physics at the Faculty of Mathematics, Computer Science, and Natural Sciences. At JSC, he works at the Computational Science division.

Prof. Dr. Stefan Krieg at the University of Bonn

Stefan Krieg heads the division HPC for Quantum Systems and, therein, the Simulation and Data Laboratory Numerical Quantum Field Theory. He is a professor of physics at the Helmholtz Institute for Radiation and Nuclear Physics of the University of Bonn.

Prof. Dr. Kristel Michielsen at University of Cologne

Kristel Michielsen is professor at the University of Cologne for Quantum Computing & Modular Supercomputing. She is Director of the JSC, head of the divison HPC for Quantum Systems and of the Quantum Information Processing Group at JSC.

Prof. Dr. Susanne Pfalzner at University of Cologne

Susanne Pfalzner is associate professor at University of Cologne for Theoretical Physics at the faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. At JSC, she is the head of the Sim and Data Lab Astrophysics. Besides, she is guest scientist at the Max-Planck-Institute for Radioastronomy in Bonn.

Prof. Dr. Morris Riedel at University of Iceland

Morris Riedel is Adjunct Associated Professor in high productivity processing of big data at the School of Engineering and Natural Sciences of the University of Iceland in Reykjavik, retaining his position as a scientist at JSC in the Federated Systems and Data division.

Prof. Dr. Giulia Rossetti at RWTH Aachen University

Giulia Rossetti is Professor for Computational Molecular Science at the Department of Oncology, Hematology and Stem Cell Transplantation, RWTH Aachen University. She retains her position as a scientist working both in the JSC Computational Science division and at the Institute for Advanced Simulations (IAS) - Computational Biomedicine (IAS-5 / INM-9) at Forschungszentrum Jülich .

Prof. Dr. Martin Schultz at University of Cologne

Martin Schultz is professor of Computational Earth System Science at the University of Cologne’s Computer Science department, within the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. At JSC, he co-leads the division Large-Scale Data Science and the research group "Earth System Data Exploration" within this division.

Prof. Dr. Estela Suarez at University of Bonn

Estela Suarez is professor at the Computer Science department at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn. At JSC, she researches on innovative system architectures for HPC as group leader within the division Technology. She coordinates the DEEP projects series.

Prof. Dr. Godehard Sutmann at Ruhr-University Bochum

Godehard Sutmann has been appointed professor for high performance computing in materials science at the Faculty for Mechanical Engineering at Ruhr-University Bochum, retaining his position as a scientist at JSC's Computational Science division.

Prof. Dr. Kalman Szabo at University of Wuppertal

Kalman Szabo is professor at University of Wuppertal. The professorship is funded by the recruit initiative of the Helmholtz Association. His field of expertise is numerical simulations in elementary particle physics. At JSC, he heads the research group Nuclear and Particle Physics.
