JSC @ Supercomputing Conference SC'19

17-22 November 2019
Denver, Colorado, USA

SC19, the leading international exhibition and conference on high-performance computing, networking, storage, and analysis, will take place in Denver, Colorado, USA, from 17 to 22 November 2019.

This year's central topic at the JSC booth #1563 will be the concept of the modular supercomputing architecture (MSA). The DEEP projects, which played a significant role in the development of MSA, will be presented along with the Module 1 of the supercomputer JUWELS. Mellanox will be guest at the JSC booth and showcase the new generation of their ConnectX-6 adapter. Application focus will be Earth system modelling (ESM). Videos with results of multi-scale climate simulations will be presented and the distribution and climatic effects of volcanic ashes in the atmosphere will be visualized using an augmented reality (AR) system. Other topics are JSC's activities in the European projects EuroHPC JU and PRACE, JSC's involvement in the infrastructure FENIX for the Human Brain Project and the cooperation with the RWTH Aachen in the Jülich Aachen Research Alliance (JARA).

In addition in-house developed HPC tools like LLview, SIONlib, JUBE, and Scalasca are demonstrated and JSC's support infrastructure will be presented.

As part of the conference programme, JSC employees will offer the tutorials "Application Porting and Optimization on GPU-Accelerated POWER Architectures" and "Hands-On Practical Hybrid Parallel Application Performance Engineering", present talks, and participate in numerous special interest group sessions and attached workshops. JSC staff will also be present at the PRACE booth #2171.
