Mitacs Globalink Research Award – Jülich (Helmholtz Association) for a research stay in Canada for Anna Pierling

March 11th, 2022: Ms Anna Pierling, M.Sc., has been accepted for a research stay at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, funded by Mitacs Globalink Research Award - Jülich (Helmholtz Association).

Mitacs and Jülich have partnered to support the two-way mobility of students between Canadian academic institutions and Jülich. Mitacs Globalink Research Award is funding a 12- to 24-week research stay. Ms Pierling will conduct her research project entitled "Investigation of synaptic plasticity in therapeutic sleep deprivation for major depression" at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, under the supervision of Prof. Pedro Rosa-Neto. Prof. Rosa-Neto is a long-standing cooperation partner of INM-2. Ms Pierling's research project is part of a proposal between Forschungszentrum Jülich, McGill University and the University of Antwerp, which is funded under the umbrella of the ERA-NET NEURON JTC 2017 "Synaptic Dysfunction".
