ATML AI Transfer

The ATML AI Transfer is dedicated to bringing cutting-edge artificial intelligence research into practical, real-world use. Our mission is to support companies and public-sector organizations in developing, testing, and deploying innovative AI applications that create tangible value.

During initial consultations, we provide open, neutral, and trend-setting guidance, helping our partners identify promising AI use cases and evaluate their feasibility. Through collaborative research projects, we implement selected use cases as functional prototypes, leveraging our access to proprietary data and the expertise of the Helmholtz AI ecosystem.

The lab focuses on key technologies shaping the current AI landscape, including large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), autonomous AI agents, fine-tuning of foundation models, and the scientific evaluation of AI systems.

A defining feature of our approach is low-barrier access: organizations can engage with us quickly and without long lead times. Our services are embedded within major national and Helmholtz initiatives such as the AI Service Center WestAI, Helmholtz HPC Gateway, and HelmholtzAI, ensuring a strong connection between fundamental research and industrial innovation.
