18th JLESC Workshop
The 18th JLESC Workshop gathers leading researchers in high-performance computing from the JLESC partners INRIA, the University of Illinois, Argonne National Laboratory, Barcelona Supercomputing Center, Jülich Supercomputing Centre, and RIKEN Center for Computational Science as well as the JLESC Fellows to explore the most recent and critical issues in advancing the field of HPC from petascale to the extreme scale and AI era.

The workshop will feature short talk and break-out sessions on these seven central topics
- Artificial intelligence
- Big Data, I/O and in-situ visualization
- Numerical methods and algorithms
- Resilience
- Performance tools
- Programming Languages
- Advanced architectures
- Quantum computing
A key objective of the workshop is to foster the existing collaborations and inform the workshop attendees of their respective progress, as well as identify new research collaborations and establish a roadmap for their implementation.
The workshop is open to all participants from the JLESC institutions Illinois, INRIA, ANL, BSC, JSC, and R-CCS; faculties, researchers, engineers and students who want to learn more about extreme-scale computing, the interplay of AI and HPC as well as hybrid HPC-quantum computing. Contact your local executive director if you are interested in attending.
Contribution and Registration
We would like to invite you to submit your abstract for a poster, break-out session, short presentation or project talk. Please submit your contribution online until March 4th, 2026.
Instruction details
In order to submit an abstract at first you have to create a new user account (account will also be used for registration later on). You will receive your personal login details via email.
Please follow the link Abstract Submission in the section Your Submissions in order to get access to the relevant page. You will be guided through the submission.
During the phase of abstract submission the contributions may be amended with your personal login.
Registration
You can use your user account to submit an abstract and register. The registration deadline is March 13th, 2026. The participation fee is 420 € and includes meals and shuttle service.
Accommodation
Blocks of rooms have been reserved for JLESC workshop participants at four hotels in Aachen city. A shuttle service will be provided directly from the hotels to the Forschungszentrum Jülich.
