2025 End-of-Year Colloquium at JSC – Happy Birthday, Thomas!
The JSC's End-of-Year Colloquium 2025 took place on 16 December. It was announced as a “Sneak Preview” like at movie theatres – titles and speakers remained a secret until the start of the event. Usually, the agenda features talks from different JSC groups about important research and project results, new systems and breakthroughs.
This year everything was a little different for a reason: Thomas Lippert’s 65th birthday was a few days before this colloquium and – as a surprise for him – the agenda included talks by long-time companions he has worked with for decades.
The surprise was a success, so that Thomas was welcomed by his guests, again a round of long-standing companions, partners and friends, singing “happy birthday” as he reached the venue. In the coffee break, additional greetings and wishes were presented to Thomas on the large screen in the foyer, e.g. from Prof. Stoyan Markov.
Our JSC colleagues, partners and friends watched a live stream of the colloquium in multiple rooms on campus and online.
Happy birthday, Thomas!
