The LLEC - organization and operation

Due to the complexity and variety of topics, a large-scale project such as the LLEC can only function with an interdisciplinary team. Currently, more than 30 people from more than 10 different organizational units as well as external partners from industry and science are working together on this project. In addition to the core team - consisting of the project manager and 9 team managers - there is a steering committee that manages the project, as well as an advisory board in which all participating institutes and business units are represented. In addition, a "Sounding Board" has been established, in which all managers involved in the project regularly exchange views on the scientific development of the project.

At LLEC, we work according to the project management approach PRImA (PRINCE2® with a sense of proportion). PRINCE2® is used worldwide and stands for "PRojects IN Controlled Environments". One challenge in the collaboration is to harmonize this project approach with the established structures and procedures at the Forschungszentrum Jülich. The LLEC team is the first interdisciplinary team of this size at Forschungszentrum Jülich.
