ELECTRA.Battery Symposium 2025

On May 19th and 20th, 2025, the ELECTRA.Battery Symposium brought top battery researchers and engineers from academia and industry to Forschungszentrum Jülich for two days of inspiring talks, lively discussions, and new connections.

The program featured four key themes:
- Applications & Modelling of Batteries
- Battery Analytics
- Post-Lithium Technologies
- Advanced Lithium & Li-ion Batteries

Plenary lectures by Prof. Yong Yang (Xiamen University) on Li-ion battery aging and Prof. Yiwang Chen (Gannan Normal University) on film energy chemistry kicked off both days. Keynote speakers from Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal, and China shared insights on everything from battery modeling and analytics to Na-ion and metal-air technologies.

FZJ's IET-1 team contributed with talks covering solid-state NMR, in operando methods, next-gen battery chemistries, and battery modelling.

Beyond the lectures, the symposium included an interactive poster session, a behind-the-scenes lab tour, and plenty of networking over coffee, lunch, and dinner.

The event was a great success, not only for showcasing the latest in battery research, but also for laying the foundation for future collaboration.
