European Hydrogen Safety Panel (EHSP)

The European Hydrogen Safety Panel (EHSP) was launched in 2017 as part of the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking FCH 2 JU. The mission of the EHSP today is to support the Clean Hydrogen Partnership at the program and project level to ensure that hydrogen safety is properly addressed. Because hydrogen safety is a dynamic area of research that supports the deployment and operation of hydrogen technologies and systems, the EHSP provides the Clean Hydrogen Partnership with unique access to current expert opinion on all hydrogen safety issues.

Beyond the Clean Hydrogen Partnership program, the EHSP provides unbiased expertise and objective information to relevant stakeholders, including the public. The EHSP provides support to stakeholders on hydrogen safety issues, including general advice, safety reviews, and accident investigations, promoting the development of a strong safety culture in organizations involved with hydrogen technologies.
