About

The Radiation Protection Team, led by Dr. Ingo Spahn, is responsible for safety in handling ionizing radiation and radioactive materials. It ensures the protection of staff and the environment from potentially harmful effects. The team's activities cover all controlled areas of INM-5 and encompass a wide range of general and specific tasks. These include conducting routine measurements and contamination checks, as well as monitoring the radiation doses received by staff. Additional key responsibilities involve training and educating staff in the safe handling of radioactive materials, overseeing external contractors, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. The Radiation Protection Team is also responsible for the preparation of documentation and authorization materials, as well as supporting recurring inspections.
