Radiation protection
The “Radiation Protection” team is responsible for radiation protection. It is therefore responsible for protecting employees and the environment from potentially harmful exposure to ionizing radiation or radioactive substances. The area of activity extends to all control areas of INM-5 and includes a variety of general and special tasks, such as carrying out measurement routines and contamination checks as well as dose monitoring of employees. Other important tasks include instruction and training in the safe handling of radioactive substances, supervision of external companies and monitoring compliance with all applicable regulations. The Radiation Protection team is also responsible for preparing documentation and licensing documents as well as supervising periodic inspections.
